De Binckhorst, once a monofunctional industrial area in the Hague, will be redeveloped in the coming years into a mixed neighborhood with, among other things, five thousand homes, offices and other functions. Situated in the heart of the new district, a former office building of KPN offers a great base for an oasis of calm, considered design, which represents modern workspaces responding to our evolving working behaviours.
Under the name Universe Offices, the building is being redeveloped around a regenerated courtyard and a new atrium in the shape of a crescent moon. Around the new atrium, multi-functional areas such as the joint reception, informal meeting places, restaurant, bar, conference center and lecture rooms are well organized.
The individual working spaces will be mainly located on the upper floors. Flexible workplaces are also being realized on the ground floor in the multi-functional areas. Last but not least, the 20,000 square meter office building is made sustainable to the BREEAM Excellent standard.
In a cooperation with ZZPD architects and Heyligers D+P, the design is a winning concept from a architecture and interior design selection. The building construction has started in Juli 2021.
